Bangla WikiConnect is a volunteer initiative. This page describes how we collect and use your information when you use this site.

What we collect

Comments: If you comment on a post, we store the comment text, the name, email address and website you supply, and your IP address. This information may be used to detect spam.

Correspondence: If you email us, we keep the message and its contents for as long as needed to respond.

Server logs: Our hosting provider records IP addresses, browser type and request times as a matter of routine. These are used for security and technical troubleshooting.

We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect or sell personal information for advertising.

Cookies

If you leave a comment, cookies may be used to remember your name and email. If you choose a light or dark theme, or a language, that preference is stored in your own browser and is never sent to our server.

Third-party services

• Wikimedia Commons: Some images on this site are displayed directly from Wikimedia Commons. Loading them reveals your IP address to the Wikimedia Foundation’s servers.
• Google Fonts: The site’s typefaces are loaded from Google’s servers.
• Akismet: Used to check comments for spam.

Each of these services has its own privacy policy.

How long we keep data

Comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely so that follow-up comments can be recognised and approved automatically. We will delete them on request.

You may request a copy of the information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask us to erase it. Contact us at the address below.
