Wiki Loves Earth Bangladesh 2026: add Bangladesh's natural heritage to the world's free knowledge.
Wiki Loves Earth Bangladesh 2026 has begun — an opportunity to show the world Bangladesh’s protected natural areas, biodiversity, wildlife, plants, forests, wetlands and natural beauty.
To take part, photograph or film a protected area in Bangladesh and upload it to Wikimedia Commons.
Who can take part?
Anyone interested in Bangladesh’s nature, biodiversity and protected areas. You may submit your own images taken on a mobile phone, a camera or any other device. Older photographs are eligible too, provided they are uploaded within the contest period.
What kind of photographs are accepted?
The photograph must be taken inside a protected area of Bangladesh, or must show the plants, animals or natural features of such an area. National parks, wildlife sanctuaries and eco-parks are among the protected areas covered by the contest.
How to take part
First create a Wikimedia account, or log in to an existing one. Then choose the location of your photograph from the list of protected areas in Bangladesh and upload the image. Adding the place, date, species name or a short description makes the photograph far more useful across Wikimedia projects.
Prizes
Cash prizes are awarded to the national winners:
- First prize: 20,000 BDT
- Second prize: 15,000 BDT
- Third prize: 10,000 BDT
- Special recognition: 7,000 BDT
The top five winners and those given special recognition receive a crest, a certificate and a memento. The fifteen best photographs from Bangladesh also go forward to the international round.
Please remember
Photographs must be your own, at least two megapixels, and uploaded between 1 June and 31 July 2026. No plant, animal or natural habitat may be harmed in taking them.
