A month-long contest for World Tourism Day, creating and improving travel articles on Bangla Wikivoyage.
The Bangla Wikivoyage Article Contest 2026 is a month-long contest for World Tourism Day, organised by Bangla WikiConnect. Participants write original travel articles or fully translate listed English Wikivoyage articles into Bangla.
Anyone who has at least one article accepted receives a digital certificate.
Rules
- Entrants must log in and register; edits from an IP address do not count.
- Choose a page from the designated article list and translate it from the English version. You may reserve up to three articles at a time.
- Original articles are welcome, provided they follow Wikivoyage’s notability rules and house style.
- Pages must be translated in full — partial translations are not accepted.
- Raw machine or AI translation is not allowed.
Dates and prizes
The contest runs from 27 September to 27 October 2026. Winners are ranked by the total words in accepted articles. The top ten receive book or gift vouchers — 6,000 BDT for first place down to 500 BDT for sixth to tenth — along with printed certificates. Anyone with at least one accepted article receives a digital certificate, and mobile internet support is available to some participants.
