Wiktionary Entry Contest 2025
A month-long contest to create new entries on Bangla Wiktionary and improve the ones already there.
The Wiktionary Entry Contest 2025 is a contest on Bangla Wiktionary for creating new word entries and improving those already there.
Rules
- Entrants must be logged in; edits from an IP address do not count.
- Entries may be created in the main, rhyme and thesaurus namespaces, in Bangla, English, Bishnupriya Manipuri, Garo, Assamese and Sylheti.
- A word entry needs three parts — etymology, pronunciation and meaning — with pronunciation following a recognised Bangla dictionary, and IPA encouraged.
- Machine and Google translation are not accepted for English entries.
- There is no limit on how many entries you may create.
Dates and prizes
The contest runs through July 2025. Anyone creating at least ten accepted entries receives a digital certificate, with gift vouchers and printed certificates for the leading participants.
